Prescribing deprexis: budget-neutral and simple

How to explain deprexis in no time

Give your patients clear guidance. Use our proven wording for a quick and easy-to-understand explanation during your consultation:

"deprexis is a medically prescribed online program for depression that is fully covered by your health insurance. You will be provided with specific exercises and conversation topics to apply in your everyday life – and you can start right away."

deprexis on prescription – how it works
in daily practice

deprexis is permanently listed in the BfArM directory and is therefore part of standard care. For individuals with public health insurance, all public health insurance companies fully cover the costs as soon as a medical or psychotherapeutic prescription or corresponding proof is provided.

You can prescribe deprexis as usual using PZN 17265872 – currently, this is generally done via Form 16. The electronic prescription (e-prescription) is being implemented gradually and depends on the capabilities of your practice management software.

Step 1:

You prescribe deprexis via Form 16 or e-prescription (PZN 17265872).

Step 2:

Patients submit the prescription to their public health insurance company or use the deprexis prescription service.

Step 3:

The health insurance company sends a personal activation code to the patients.

Step 4:

Patients redeem the code on this website.

Please feel free to request practical “Muster 16” (standard German form) prescription templates as well as patient information material. Detailed instructions for issuing the prescription are included in the package.

How to prescribe deprexis for privately insured patients

Most private health insurance companies also cover the costs of deprexis.

The insured individual checks a potential reimbursement individually with their PHI provider in advance.

Step 1:

For this purpose, private health insurance (PHI) companies require a cost estimate as well as a medical prescription or confirmation of diagnosis. (The cost estimate and confirmation of diagnosis are available for download below.)

Step 2:

The patient then clarifies cost coverage with their PHI and, if applicable, the governmental allowance agency (Beihilfe).

Step 3:

Once cost coverage has been clarified, patients contact the manufacturer (diga-team@gaia-group.com). They will receive their access data and the invoice.

The prescription process for self-paying patients

Self-paying patients can also use deprexis. The cost for a 90-day license period is €297.50, including 19% VAT.

Step 1:

As a practitioner, you issue a confirmation of diagnosis or a medical prescription for this purpose.

Step 2:

The patient sends this document to diga-team@gaia-group.com.

Step 3:

The GAIA AG service team provides the access to deprexis and the invoice.

You can provide early care to patients

even in times of high demand and long waiting lists.

Your decision is based purely on clinical criteria and financial security.
